1750s – One collection, Roman Lucius Calpurnius Piso, volcanic ash covered Herculanen. 1750 the library was studied, scrolls in wooded boxes bookcases, most written in Greek or Latin. Nov 1922 – Cesare Mori, the Fascists in power. He resigned his office in Bari and went to Florence. Cesare Mori spent the next 18 months writing his first book about the mafia in Sicily. 1927-29 – In 1928 half of all Chicago’s Italian immigrants were from Sicily. From 1927 to 1929 there were major trials of the mafia. Hundreds of mafiosi were jailed in Palermo.
